I forgot to tell you that when I was in Austin a few weeks ago I waited in line for the ladies room with these guys …
It was a slow moving line, but very colorful.
We visited some sort of temple not far from the music festival. I’ve been there before and it’s really pretty. I have no idea what values or beliefs the temple promotes, but there are pretty birds, fountains and gardens there. Here are a few photos from our visit.
I loved looking at these peacock feathers!
This one tried to intimidate me. It worked.
My friend Heather L. is afraid of birds. At my wedding (held at a chapel not far from this temple) a peacock chased her into the gift shop. I missed the whole thing because I busy pacing nervously, but I’ve been told she screamed like a little girl. I’m posting this here because if Heather is reading my blog, I’m pretty sure when she saw the first bird picture up at the top, she clicked right off to some bird-free website. Sorry Heather!
There are also some great carving, statue-like things at the temple and a beautiful fountain.
I wish this was my backyard.
That sure is a fancy gazebo.
