Sleepless in Oklahoma

I’ve spent the last couple of weeks in a cycle of strange sleep patterns. Last week I went to my hometown for a visit with family. During part of my stay, I visited my friends Chock and Kelly.

Kelly and I have a habit of staying up all night long working on various projects. We used to sit up late at night and play cards while washing shirts for the rodeo crew. We’ve spent many a long night working on a rodeo coloring book that we would do each year for the local rodeo they produced. This time, we were getting Kelly’s own blog set up. I’m not going to reveal it right now, but I will once she has it all in order. It’s going to be great!

Before I left, I took a stroll around their place and took a few pictures.

I saw horses …

I love horses.

I found a great spot to stop and smell the roses.

Every time I see this, I have to sing a verse or two of Kaw-Liga and I wonder if he’s really in love with the Indian Maid over at the antique store. I could go on and on here with the lyrics, but I don’t want to annoy the spirit of Hank Williams.

Kelly makes and paints these cool signs because she’s artistic. I especially like the one that says, “Be Nice or Leave.” That just about sums things up for me — simple and to the point.

Just in case you want more pictures of horses … here ya go!

The loss of sleep was worth every minute of getting to catch up with old friends!

True friends are the ones that can stay up all night talking or working on projects and it only seem like a few minutes. Great job on the pictures.
